Topic: Automating your DR in Azure with PowerShell
Organizations today need to adopt a business continuity and disaster recovery strategy (BCDR) to keep the data safe, the applications and workloads online, when planned and unplanned outages occur. Failover/Failback activities could result in manual activities when you must create and deploy additional resources to have the infrastructure up and running, affecting the time it takes to complete recovery or restore. You can automate and orchestrate some of these tasks by using Recovery plans, PowerShell and Automation account to help ensure your infrastructure is consistent and, as a result, reduce your RTO. Agenda:
– In this talk, we will discuss the requirements you need to have in place for this to work.
– Understand the components behind Azure Site Recovery
– How recovery plans could help orchestrate the deployment to avoid human error
– Discuss the PowerShell commands you will need to use
– Leverage an automation account and Runbooks to deploy post-action activities once failover is successful.
